Images 7-8

This picture matches with my theme the same way many other images match my theme. However, this one is one of the most different ones in the way it portrays expression through music. All of my images show an instrument being played. In this one it is someone dancing. However, one of my biggest issues with this, is that while I say it is portrayal of expression through music, it also almost doesn't seem like he's dancing. Most dancing images are better expressed through a more exaggerated pose, or move. Even though this isn't the best pose, it can slightly pass off as dance. It would much easier pass off if I had something as simple as a speaker on he ground, or maybe even a boombox.

This image relates to my theme as the emotion shown as well as the background images, especially the one with the heart in it, allow for a photo that shows the expression through music. This is also pieced together because of the focus being mainly on the earphones. On top of all that there is a slightly brighter light that just barely gives the earphones a brighter highlight. The things I did in photoshop match my theme because of the greyscale being a part of the images, but the other two being the main focus. I wanted to have to have the heart greyscale because it is more so like an addition to the emotion he has. The other two I didn't greyscale are the parts that show the source of music and emotion.

7Abende - First 3 portfolio images

First Three Images

The concentration theme that my images are centered around is the expression of self, or emotion, through music. It's to show the moments in music that people release the emotion in them or how they feel through it. Whether it's dance, rap, singing, playing the guitar, etc. My theme by itself however doesn't exactly fit an artistic role, so with it, what I'm doing to the images is using a technique where I pop out the points I want to be more so focused on, and also making each of these points either have meaning, or fit with the other points in general. On all of these images I'm not using the exact same look, but trying different things based on the picture. On top of that, I will be doing different images that have a main and clear color to go along with it, like my second picture here.  A very important aspect to these images as well is the composition of the images before I put it into photoshop, as it will allow for me to get creative or really match the different ways I try to pop things out.

Contrast Photography

Contrast Photography

For this image, an idea had popped into my head, and I just felt like doing it. The negative would be the picture in the middle which is inverted. Originally my photo had much more in it than this, and all of the stuff on it was too much, and didn't match well at all. I think that the image is better now, but it still feels like it might be a little much.

This image was something I wanted to try. The contrast would be the gold and silver. I wanted to try and do something interesting with the mirror to make a really cool contrast image, and I feel that it did work. However, the masking on the reflection isn't as could as it could have been.

Breadth Portfolio

Breadth Portfolio

These are some of the photos I have taken in the past year.  I would have to say that since I have started photography, I've improved a good bit. Some of these photos were inspired by stories, and the rest are photos that I made from observation or photoshop.

7Abender Midterm Photo Challenge

With glow, I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do, but when I saw the way the butterfly reacted with the light bar, I decided to try something out. I think this image could have been really cool, if I was able to capture more of a color change in the butterfly.

When he was using the rubix cube, I thought it would be interesting to take some photos, and I really like the way this came out. One thing I personally would have changed, is that I wish that the foreground was in focus instead.

When I took this photo, I thought t would be a cool idea to try. i had seen the rubix cube and wanted to try something with it. I think that it is really cool with the false reflection.

Creative Portrait

I originally wanted to try to do something deeper with this photo, but instead I thought, "Since it's a portrait about me, why don't I just take a picture of something I do/like to do." And out came this image.

7-ABender Photo challenge

Photo Challenge

This picture is supposed to represent a glass half empty. It fits the half category, and symbolizes a little story about Santa drinking the milk, and eating the cookies. This image could have had a much better composite, if I had used a plate with cookies instead of a box. Had I done that, I could have also used a better angle.

This picture is a way of combining the light-stick with the glass ball. The exposure is pretty good, and it certainly includes a circle. The composition is a bit plain, but it could have been worse.

This image isn't at all the best composition wise, but with the focus on words, it's almost powerful.
The lighting works, and the exposure is good.

This photo is okay. It is symmetrical, but also different. It also could have been cropped better. In the end, it isn't too bad of an image.

7Abender - Photoshop Challenge

Photoshop Challenge

Cartoon Effect

This one was pretty fun to do, and I like the outcome. I didn't have any difficulties doing the tutorial, and it was pretty easy.

Mosaic Effect

This one was interesting to do, and pretty simple. I did run into a few difficulties with this one. For one, the tutorial wanted me to resize the original image, but if I did that, then the Mosaic would have looked terrible, you wouldn't be able to tell what the image was. But since the image size was normal the mosaic is not as good as it could have been.

Dispersion Effect
This was my favorite image to make, I really like the effect. This photo did come out pretty well, but after making it, I did see some things that could have been done better. For one, the dispersion effect should have taken more of his face, rather than just the shoulder, and his ear. Also, the background could have been better, which would have made the content aware fill much better.
